Magnetic Mayhem

We started our unit on Magnetism & Electricity today.  It started as a nice exploration, using the scientific method to project hypotheses about which materials magnets would stick to and which materials the magnetism would go through and then test them.

Of course, it did not end up that way.  It ended up with the kids building Magnetic Mayhem Island (located near Sodor), where Thomas and his friends (who are also magnetic) must perform various tasks (such as collecting paper clips) while not being pulled off track through the crazy magnetic fields that surround them.

Yes, those are magnets for earrings in the girls' ears.

Happy Schooling!  :-)
