Where is God in the midst of pain and suffering? Why do bad things happen to good people? Why does God let evil continue in the world?
These age-old questions have been asked by almost everyone who has lived since the beginning of time. The Book of Job, one of the most famous sufferers in history, was probably the first book of the Bible to actually be written down. From Eve weeping over the body of her son Abel, to Rachel weeping for her children in Bethlehem, to the pain and suffering we feel in our own lives now, people have cried out to God - "Why?"
Prompted by the death of a close family friend who was the tender age of 15, Kirk Cameron delved into these questions. The result is his film: Unstoppable. While Kirk does not claim to know the answers to these difficult questions, he goes back to the story of the beginnings of good and evil as it unravels in the Bible, culminating in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, and he shares the hope that he has found.
I have a difficult time writing this review without putting my own thoughts about pain and suffering into it, but since that would entail writing a novel, I will refrain at this time. Kirk Cameron's film is thought-provoking, genuine, and hopeful. He speaks from his heart about a topic that has affected all of us, searching for truth rather than getting lost in emotion. This is an excellent video for a Sunday School class, small group, teens, or anyone who has struggled with the question of why evil exists in the world.

UNSTOPPABLE will prompt audiences to consider the role that pain and suffering has in our lives, as they affirm their personal views on faith, and encourage conversation starters about God, suffering, and hope.
In theaters for only two weeknights (Sept 24th and Oct 3th, 2013), UNSTOPPABLE: A Live Event with Kirk Cameron sold a staggering 260,000 tickets and reached a theatrical gross of over $3.2 million dollars. In just two nights this independent project sent a loud message – audiences want thought-provoking and meaningful entertainment.
Kirk Cameron is best known for his memorable role as “Mike Seaver,” a cultural icon of the 80's, with his mullet hairstyle, cool glasses, and wisecracking comebacks. More recently he enjoyed much success with the No. 1 grossing inspirational film of 2008, Fireproof, and his recent documentary, Monumental. Kirk and his wife, Chelsea, were on-screen sweethearts during their Growing Pains years and are the founders of Camp Firefly, where terminally and seriously ill children and their families are provided an all-expense paid retreat (www.CampFirefly.com).
