Theory of Intelligent Design Lapbooks

I love to write, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to be published, but first and foremost, I write and scrapbook for my children.  I love the fact that they love to pour over the scrapbook albums I've made for the family, and my girls enjoy scrapbooking now, too.  So I was extremely happy that my kids also enjoyed doing the unit study and putting together the lapbooks I just had published for the Theory of Intelligent Design!

The youngest just drew pictures!

We did the lapbook study for K-8th grade, and it was about a 6-week unit study for us.  This is a great unit to do over the summer in between your regular science curriculum studies, and your kids will learn things about Creation and Intelligent Design that they will not learn in many other places.  The Theory of Intelligent Design Lapbook and Study Guide is available now at Knowledge Box Central.

Happy Lapbooking!

Scrapping Baseball Pictures

It is the end of Tee-ball season, with Baseball season closing soon!  Do you have all kinds of baseball pictures you need to scrap?

I used one of my favorite kits, "Batter Up" by JustSoScrappy.  This version of the kit is no longer available, but Crazy-4-Monograms has one of the same title available at JustSoScrappyToo.

Another great baseball kit is "Sporty Baseball" by Kristin Aagard, available at Scrap Orchard.

"Skylike Chili" - A Little Taste of Cincinnati At Home

Skyline Chili Three-Way
When we were in Cincinnati a few weeks ago, my kids found a new love - Skyline Chili!  Living in North Carolina, we don't get up to Cincinnati too often.  The last time was about --- 7 years ago.  Internet to the rescue!  My son found a copycat recipe and made it for us last night.  Yes, I'm sorry purists, but we did use Colby-Jack cheese instead of cheddar.  We also used ground turkey in the chili instead of ground beef.  He did everything from scratch, chopping the onions and mincing the garlic himself.

The teenage Grill Master is becoming a Chili Chef as well.  He will have a hard time beating his dad in both of those departments, but he is looking forward to the next chili cook-off in the fall when he can test their skills against each other before unbiased judges!!

Happy Cooking!

REMEMBER

"Tee-rrific" and a FREEBIE

I hope you are having as lovely weather this Memorial Day weekend as we are.  We couldn't have asked for a better weekend for my husband's Navy Retirement party!  This Memorial Day, I can't help being relieved that he has retired, he made it through, he is not among the fallen.  As a Naval Chaplain, he was that guy in uniform that you did not want to see come to your door; he performed the funerals; he counseled the survivors.  We remember all of those today.

As the season turns to summer and we celebrate our freedom, you may be getting in a few golf games.  Dandelion Dust Designs has the perfect kit right now for all those golf pictures.  I just love the color combination in this kit.  I did a golf page and a non-golf page to show you its versatility!

Pick up the kit now at ScrapTakeout!

I've made my pages into QPs for you.  Click images to download from Mediafire.  PU only.

LEGO Lapbooks

Another adventure in lapbooking!  I wish I'd known about these things years ago when I started homeschooling.  I found another great one - "Learning with LEGO" lapbook from Walking By The Way.  I should mention that we have so many Legos that we are considering building ourselves a house from them.  To say my kids (including the big Dad-kid) love Legos is an understatement.  In this unit study, the kids learned about the history behind Legos, the country of Denmark, doing math with Legos, and a little about Lego's business model, in addition to hours of fun building with the bricks and taking pictures of their projects to include with their lapbooks.

If your kids love LEGOS as much as mine do, download this great free resource from http://www.walkingbytheway.com/blog/lego-unit-lapbook/.

Happy Lapbooking!

"Sherbet" Paper Pack and a FREEBIE

Using digital tools, there is so much you can do with just a fun pack of papers.  The colors in Dandelion Dust Designs' Sherbet Paper Pack were just perfect for spring photos.  I digitally cut simple shapes out of the different papers and layered them with my photo in iRemember for Mac.

"Beach Cottage" and a FREEBIE

I hope you are enjoying some spring weather in your area, if you are in the Northern Hemisphere!  We are having gorgeous days here in NC, but I know some people still have snow and cold.  As it warms up here along the coast, we are all thinking of summer activities, Memorial Day picnics, and the BEACH!

Just in time, here is Dandelion Dust Designs' "Beach Cottage" kit.  I used it to make LOs of activities near the beach:
